Music Taste

this blog is to show my music taste and how it grew and expanded overtime, you probably think, why is this loser doing this? well i need to work on some kind of blog or whatever for practice for coursework etc. also when i;m older id like to work as music journalist for kerrang or rocksound.
during my time of blogging, i will be posting reviews of gigs,albums etc and if u think this is nerdy? well you can fuck off!.


Songs That Changed My Life:

Smells Like Teen Spirit - Nirvana:
i think this song changed most peoples life, its just so fucking brilliant
kurt is like my idol he seriously is. i remember hearing this in the car and thinking fuck this this is awesome, also one of the first ever rock bands i ever liked.

Pretty Fly For A Whie Guy - Offspring: i Know This Came out ages before i heard it,
but i loved it, it has such a great chorus and singing along to it in car journeys and thought
this is amazing, so this gotta be one of my favourites

What I Am - Edie Brickell & The New Bohemians: This song is so nice, its relaxing, its calm,
its just brilliant. i know its like ancient but god damnit its good. Again its a car journey song, but ive always loved it and still do today, its just such a great song.

Somewhere I Belong - Linkin Park: when i heard this, it was my dream,
rap and metal combined, and chester had the most amazing voice ever, and to me its a very very very powerful song. i just loved the melodic chorus and evereything its just a fucking good song.

Sorry Your Not A Winner - Enter Shikari: i remember my friend sending me this, and when i heard it it was like :O. just the electro build up intro was amazing and the guitar and screaming i loved. on itunes ive played this about 46 times i love it sooo much its amazing, shame Common Dreads aint so good.

Rooftops - Lostprophets: i love emo melodic anthems, i love lostpophets. today there one of my favourite bands ever, and i love this song to bits. just the anthemic chorus rocked my socks and it was just so powerfull and everything. libeartion transmission is a awesome album.

Tears Don't Fall - Bullet For My Valentine:
my friend first showed me this at school i think, geography and i just thought this is amazing.
the way it starts all soft and then he starts screaming that kinda appealed to me, i put this on my sisters mp3 for a, laugh once and it almost made her ears bleed.

Hysteria - Muse: everything about this song rules, the bass line is impossible to learn, but i just baout cracked it ;P. its almost sounds metal, because of the solo and the kind of feel to it, absouloution is an amazing album gotta be one of there best.











from an early age ive always liked music. its not till i was like 8 (year 3) that i realy did like music.
before my taste was awful i liked: mcfly,busted, s club, and pop like kylie minouge, sophie ellis bexton, the bee-gees ands stuff that my parents listend too and kinda 2001-2002-2003 pop. however till i heard smells like teen spirit changed my life forever. i herd this in the car once coming back from stanma park and thinking this is fucking brilliant. and my dad said the leed singer died i was a bit upset but ah well. later in the nyear my family made cd's for holidays and car journeys and that was usualy stuff like the black eyed peads,junior senior and a couple of other classic stuff my dad wanted me to hear. smoke on the water was one of my favourites, i just loved the dun dun dun dun dun dundun guitar riff it was just fucking awsum. also another band that i still like now is offspring. prerrt fly for a white guy was amazzzzzzzing. it was just so good, and i felt cool liking it coz it was proper rock punk and also hit that i liked too. time went on and i grew to like more classic stuff like nazereth and led zep etc. more car journey cd's and stuff. i nwent through a phase of only likinng game music lol, from like super smash bros and stuff, and zelda games, now that was sad. time passed still and it was still game music, car cds and suff till one day. in about year 5 year 6 i went through a phase of being obsessed with sprites, little pixilated video game characters that you can animate on flash powerpoint etc, and there's alot of those on sites such as newgrounds etc. one time i was watching a mario vs sonci thing, when smack my bitch up came on. i wa slike :O:O this is awsum. it made great fight music and it was amazing just the whole energy of it and everything. I told my dad i liked the prodigy and he bought me fat of the land and that was a brilliant album. maybe 2 or 3 months passed, and i was in year 7, and during that my music taste changed alot. i ditched all the old music and started listning to stuff at my own will. one of my phases was sonic songs from various flash sprite movies on newgrounds. i just loved sonic songs and that all came from my mate gabe, coz he got me into spriting (nerdy i know ;P). i liked alot of dance/trance/techno music like aphex tiwn da rude jet set radio etc,, and i still l;ove the prodigy but then i started getting into industrial heavy nu-metal bands. again these bands were on flash movies, these bands were like: powerman 5000, static x, crossfade, and these fucking ruled i loved them. later in the year, my friends showed me various stuff like splipknot, bullet for my valentine and good charlotte wich were again awsum and is till like them today. i liked a bit of thrice and junkie xl and i loved the white stripes and kasier chiefs aswell. so my music was all good. then came the phase of linkin park. it was like my fravourite thing in the world, linkin park was my life, i actually worshiped them, it wa sjust awesome beyond awesome. because of that it got me into watching kerrang and that changed my life forever. my mp3 filled up with loads of new bands and genres and everything, wilst i still love dmy old stuff, my life changed alot. lostprophets,mcr,guns & roses metallica,fall out boy,greenday i loved the lot. also my mate james showed me this game for ps2 called burnout revenge, wich had a shit load of good music in. Billy Talent, Maximo Park, Funeral For A Friend, Avengend Sevenfold, Yellowcard, Finch, The Outline, B;oc Party., all bands i love today and then i was downloading and buying cds it was amazing i fucking loved music. another sogn that changed my life was bring me to life by evanescence. i saw the video and thought fuck she's fuckign hot and the song was amazing, even though it was kinda old then, but i still loved it, and i still do today, and i have several albums. Muse, Papa roach,Nightwish,Feeder popped up in my mp3 and everything. i wa beginning to like basicly anything i heard. today my music taste broardens and im still downloading about a billion songs every month, i have a massive album collection and shit load of a itunes libary.
